A very popular location for an engagement session is the National Portrait Gallery in downtown D.C. It has a little bit for every couple ranging from the classical portraits to the more modern and abstract.
The theme that this couple chose for their wedding was black tie and they wanted the images from their engagement session to compliment that vision.
We started taking their pictures in the glass ceilinged Robert and Arlene Kogod courtyard because the light is beautiful there at any time of the day. From there we passed the more classical exhibits that were in line with what the couple had envisioned for their pics.
At the end we passed through the modern section of the museum we came across Gene Davis' Hot Beat exhibition. The colorful stripes provided a great backdrop for these two to pose in front of for their images. And those are the ones that they chose to print for their home!
