Though we are wedding photographers who are based in the D.C. metro area we are always happy to travel to the location the bride and groom have chosen to get married in.
This couple wanted to say I do at the historic town hall in Hannover, Germany. And since one of us is originally from Hannover as well, we jumped at the chance to photograph a wedding that is part hometown to Potok's World Photography.
The historic new town hall, or neues Rathaus in German was built in the early part of the 20th century as opposed to the old townhall that was constructed much earlier in time.
It is a popular wedding today for those couples that want to have a courthouse wedding ceremony, but in a beautiful setting instead of an office building.
Though it was a small wedding, the it had a lot of meaning wedding traditions as part of it. For example, the bride and groom had a bite at a bratwurst cart that the bride used to frequent as a child with her father and grandfather after the ceremony.
Even the bride's beautiful ring was an antique ring created in France around 1905.
To get the perfect ring shot for her we placed it on Amethyst Geode cluster to bring out the gorgeous antique cut diamond in the center.
