Top of the Town in Arlington, Virginia, is one of our favorite wedding venues in the Washington, DC area. Located atop a hill behind the famous “Iwo Jima” Marine Corps War Memorial, the event and reception hall overlooks the city and offers a spectacular view of the National Mall and nearly all of Washington’s iconic monuments.
When a couple exchanges their vows in front of the city’s best-known landmarks, every matrimony hosted there is truly a “Washington wedding!”
It’s also a great place for DC-based wedding photographers like us to ply our craft. With the Washington cityscape in the background, it’s nearly impossible to take a wedding portrait that isn’t spectacular. It also doesn’t hurt when the newly married couple is as photogenic as these two!
This bride and groom are of Iranian descent and tied the knot in a lovely Bahà'í ceremony in Top of the Town’s fancy events room. After they got hitched, we rushed out onto the venue’s roof to get some portraits done before the winter sun dipped below the horizon. The near-freezing January temperatures were a bit of a challenge, but the newlyweds were great sports and used the cold weather as a nice excuse to cuddle up and get romantic.
