Because we live in the Washington, DC, area, most of the weddings that we photograph are near the Nation’s Capital. That said, we lived overseas for many years before becoming wedding photographers. We have traveled to dozens of countries between the two of us. So we certainly do not mind venturing outside the Washington metro area to help couples document their marriage celebrations! For example, we have taken pictures at numerous nuptial events in Philadelphia. We have also photographed several in Germany, a few in India and even one in the Dominican Republic.
This particular wedding took us up to Stockton, New Jersey, which is located approximately halfway between New York and Philadelphia. The town is technically at the edge of the New York metro area, one of the largest in the world. The region, however, and its wedding venues have a very rural vibe. This gives fiancés from New York and Philadelphia a nice option. Those looking to tie the knot away from the big city have such venues less than 90 minutes from home!
The newlyweds in this photo selected Stone Rows Farm for their wedding venue. In our opinion, they could not have made a better choice. The site offers rustic elegance for those looking to have a luxury marriage celebration in a rural setting. It also has a delightfully fun side for those who like to cut loose a little bit. Set on a 272-year-old farm, the wedding location has a options for indoor and outdoor nuptial ceremonies. Stone Rows Farm’s beautiful barn is great for receptions. The acres and acres of green space provide a wealth of spots to take gorgeous couples portraits.
Thanks in part to that natural beauty, we were able to deliver to the bride and groom impactful wedding photography. They got several photo albums worth of unforgettable images of their lovely marriage celebration. They received a touching picture of three generations of women working quickly to finish sewing the wedding dress in time for the ceremony. They also enjoyed a great shot of the groom cupping his hands over his mouth in mock horror after having accidentally sworn during the best man’s speech. As you can imagine, we were delighted to give to the newlyweds photos that showed just how sweet and fun their wedding was.
Of all the great pictures, though, this one might be our favorite. The couple decided to use their couples portraits time to stroll around the 216-acre grounds of the farm. It was a beautiful summer day, so the new husband and wife brought their pet dog along for the walk. When they got to this particular part of the farm, we had them stop for a minute. We loved everything about the scene around them. We were enchanted by the lines of the fences, the blue of the sky and the green of the grass.
What we most liked, however, was how quiet and peaceful everything was. There was nothing to distract attention away from the husband and wife who had just exchanged their vows. So we had them hold hands and gaze into one another’s eyes. Then we took of picture of them looking like the happiest two people in the world.
